Post-Camping
Checklist
Items in italics should
be done as soon as you get home.
Set up tent if used. Dry;
wipe out floor and outside (if needed).
Empty trash from backpack.
Empty and rinse water bottles (Do Not
store closed).
Rinse and dry water purifier, if used.
Roll out tarp and mattress pad; store
away. Mattress pad should be stored flat
or inflated.
Dry out boots, gloves, and rope if
wet. If needed, recondition boots once
dry.
Remove all clothingwet or dryand
wash.
Remove sleeping bag and liner from
bag. Air-dry for a few days. Never leave
sleeping bag in stuff-sack.
Store unused food properly.
Make Notes of items forgotten for next
trip.
Take a shower!
Clean pots, pans, and utensils (not Mom).
Clean, dry, and sharpen knives or hatchet,
if needed.
Shake out empty backpack.
Replenish any used items (TP, napkins, soap,
first aid materials, etc.)
Repair any equipment prior to next trip.
