Pioneer Trails District Camporee 2003

Saturday morning flag ceremony

This years theme was Mountain Man. Here the boys from the various troops are learning about skills of the mountain man and practicing Indian Lore

True Troop 61 spirit

Ok, Jack o'Lantern... time for your lobotomy. See the results at the bottom of this page and why they are doing this.

Our Troop was selected to run the evenings campfire program. Here 61 is at work getting the fire wood ready. The Camporee was held at one of the public camping sites at Smithville Lake.

During the time dinner was getting readied, Scouts played a little touch football and tossed the Frisbees around.

This is Troop 61's campsite. All together there were thirty or so Troops here. Perfect weather for October!

The cooks at work

The Scouts carved about 15 or so Pumpkins for use at the campfire. They all were lit and used to help keep skit players from being too close to the fire. It helped set the October feeling in the air too. Great job 61! Special Thanks to Greg C. for donating the orange gourds. Way cool!
