Al talks to a couple of  boys about joining Troop 61. This event has traditionally been the time for recruitment of  new boys and their families  Our Turkey Dinner meal was prepared by the adults. This year we roasted four turkeys over an open fire, basted with  honey and melted margarine. We also deep fried four turkeys. Look closely in the foreground. A apple and cherry cobbler is in the Dutch oven. One of dozens of deserts. Wow, what a meal!
Camp fire flag retirement.JPG (149860 bytes) Singing God Bless America.JPG (155871 bytes)
One of the special things that we do is have a camp fire after dinner. We all had a great time with the jokes, skits and songs. At the end of the camp fire, we held a flag retirement ceremony. We all had moments of deep thoughts as we remember those that have fought and are still fighting for our freedom As the fire grows, we take this time to sing God Bless America
